What's in my shower?

I've seen a lot of "What's in my shower" videos and blog posts recently, and I absolutely love them! They're so nosey and fun, so hopefully you'll enjoy this too. By the way, this is not all of my products, just the ones I use most often.

Some of my products

Face wash
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Exfoliator - £5.50 (100ml) - I quite like this exfoliator, although I didn't choose it myself, it comes out green and has quite a few beads. However, I have the old formulation and apparently the new one is not as exfoliating. I don't know if I'll repurchase this because at £5.50 I could probably get something else. However, for £5.50, it actually is quite effective and lasts a long time. But I use this after my facial wash around twice-three times per week, and it does its job!
The Body Shop Seaweed Purifying Facial Wash - £7 (100ml) - Again, I didn't choose this myself, I actually recieved it as part of a present. However I really like it, it's quite gentle but keeps my face soft and feeling clean.

Shampoo
So, next is my shampoos. I use three different shampoos, depending on what I need.
Soap&Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo - £5.50 (250ml) - I use this if my hair is dry/not too greasy, as it's the heaviest product and I find it can make my hair greasy. But it smells amazing and leaves your hair feeling clean and fresh.
Head&Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - £2-4 (500ml) - Yes, I get dandruff! So when I do, I use this, but I don't like to use it too often because it' has so many chemicals in it
Possibility Raspberry Pavlova 3-in-1 Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath - around £3 i think?  (525ml) - This is my favourite shampoo ever! It smells incredible and has a really nice texture - it feels sort of like a jelly. It can be used as shampoo, shower gel or for bubble baths, so it's super good value too.

Shower gel
Soap&Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub - £8.00 (300ml) - This exfoliator smells SO AMAZING! It smells of lime and grapefruit and sugar and goodness, it's honestly so lovely. I don't think that it's the best exfoliator ever, but it's quite good on my legs, I just find that for the price it's not so incredible. I use this around three times per week, on my upper arms and on my legs before I shave.
Soap&Glory Foam Call Body Wash - £6.00 (500ml) - I love this, it lathers up so well and smells lovely.

Conditioners
Percy&Reed Totally TLC Hydrating Mask - £20.00 per 125ml - Don't worry, I didn't actually spend that much money on this! I got it for free as a sample somewhere, and I love it. I use it once a week when my hair really needs a deep treatment. You just apply to wet hair, put a towel over it, leave it for ten minutes and then rinse. It's so luxurious and relaxing, and leaves your hair feeling beautiful!
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner for Damaged Hair - £4.98 (250ml) - I've use a few Aussie conditioners and this is by far my favourite. It's a pinky colour and smells like bubblegum! It's also so moisturising without leaving your hair heavy and weighed down.

Sorry this was SUPER long, but I hope you enjoyed! Stay beautiful girls,

My Daily Makeup Routine (Weekdays)

Today I'm just posting the products that I use each day on my face. I know it seems like a lot for young skin (or so people say, I don't know!) but it truly isn't. Also, I'm very careful to remove all traces of makeup and I ensure that my face looks natural and not cakey (I hate the cakey look...) Also, we're not really supposed to wear makeup i my school, and I've only occaisionally been asked to take mine off, which shows that generally it looks natural :) It's only when I go overboard on mascara that I have to take it off haha!

Here is an overview of the products I use. I'll go into further details of colours/how I use them below, but for now I'll just list them! (Left to right, back row-front) - Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick, MAC Beauty Powder, Rimmel Lasting Finish 16hr Foundation, Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam, Rimmel Fix&Perfect Pro Primer, Natural Collection Loose Powder, Natural Collection LashCurl Mascara, Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara, Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara in Extreme Black, MAC Lipglass, Natural Collection Concealer Stick and Studio Eyeliner.
I'll start with face products since this is what I use first. After moisturising, I use the Rimmel Fix&Perfect Pro Primer in shade 002, which is just plain white, all over my face. I then apply either the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in shade 100 (Ivory) or the Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation in shade 10 (Ivory). However, since the weather is getting warmer, if my skin is looking okay, I just move straight onto the next step! I apply my Natural Collection Concealer stick (which is not the image above, sorry), in the shade Nude, to any blemishes I have on my face. I then use the 2True 3 in 1 Concealer in the lightest shade (Sorry, can't remember the number!) under my eyes and on my cheeks to reduce redness. After this I apply the Natural collection Loose Powder in Neutral Transluscent to set my foundation, and finish with MAC's Beauty Powder in Too Chic on my cheeks to highlight.
My eyes are quite simple. I use the Studio Whiter Than White Eyeliner on the inner corner of my eyes to make them look wider and brighter, and then curl my eyelashes. After, I apply a mixture of the three mascaras above until I have the desired effect.
Finally I use the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Spotlight Beige. This is very moisturising and you probably don't need a lipgloss, but I apply the MAC Lipglass in Possum Nose Pink just to finish off the whole look.

I hope you enjoyed this blog! Stay beautiful girls,
E x

Viva View: MUA Lipsticks Review

Since I only posted a tag before, I thought I'd add a little more, so here's a review for the MUA Lipsticks. MUA is a range at Superdrug, and all their products are just £1. They now have a new MUA Pro range which are a little more than £1, but the classic MUA products are still that price. So all these lipsticks were just £1 each!

This is a hot pink in shade 3. It's an incredibly vibrant colour and if you apply it, blot, then reapply, it lasts for hours!

This is in shade 4, and the lipstick is a bubblegum pink, but unfortunately it doesn't come out quite as boldly. It gives your lips more of a pale sheen, which was a little disappointing, but it does still colour your lips nicely.

This lipstick is in the shade 11, and is a beige-y brown colour. This is so beautiful for autumn/winter, and it is a really lovely colour. It can also be built up from a pale nude to a very deep brown, which means everyone can find their perfect shade!

Finally this is shade 12, and it is a coral-y pink with glitter. The texture of this lipstick is much rougher, and the lipstick itself is very hard and can be a little drying. It doesn't apply as nicely as the others, but it is a fairly nice, light shade of pink which, for £1, is worth it!

So, in conclusion what do I think? For me, I don't think these lipsticks are something to swear by, however I do like that you could try a very bold, maybe slightly scary, colour for a while, see how you like it and then upgrade to maybe a Rimmel or Barry M dupe. Also, I think that these lipsticks are a great starter if you don't have much money to spend on makeup.

Finally, the shade 3 hot pink is truly beautiful, so I think that these lipsticks have the potential to be wonderful, and maybe i just picked some rubbish shades. So, due to this I'm going to give them an overall rating of...

7/10 :D

I hope you enjoyed this, if you've used MUA lipsticks tell me your opinions and favourite shades!

Stay beautiful girls,

Wish List!

I've been scanning the makeup websites all day, and have come up with a gigantic wishlist! I'm going to keep coming back to this and crossing things out once I've bought them, so wish me luck...

Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV - £36.80

Is this not just the prettiest thing? Not only do you get 16 colours (10 of which are new), you also get a mascara, liquid eyeliner and a primer potion! Now, I know there are very much divided opinions on the technological side of this palette; there is a shelf to rest your smartphone and a speaker that you can plug into it so you can watch tutorial videos. I do agree that I'm a little annoyed about the increased price from the Book of Shadows 3, with just the addition of a speaker, however I think it's a good idea and I can't wait to try it. It currently has 20% off at Debenhams, bringing the price to £36.80 so I'm hoping to order it soon!

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic kit - £28.50

I think this palette looks great, and it includes:
- That Girl face primer
- Erase Paste concealer
-Boi-ing
- 2 concealer shades
- Lemon aid colour correcting eye primer
- Eye bright instant eye brightener
- 2 brushes
- Step-by-step guides

While £28.50 is very expensive, when you break it down into all the products you recieve, it's really not that much. Still, I'll have to wait till my birthday or Christmas to get this I think.

Urban Decay Naked Palette - £32.40

Now if you're into makeup, I'm sure you've at least heard of this palette! I've wanted this for years but at £32.40, I really need to justify buying it! In fact, it's normally £36, it's only less because Debenhams have a 20% off sale at the moment. So I ca't decide whether to buy the Naked palette or the Book of Shadows IV now, as a treat for when I'm finished with my exams. Comment below and tell me your favourite!

Urban Decay Cream Eyeshadows
Urban Decay Cream Eyeshadow Suburbia
The shade above is Suburbia, and I'd also like the shade 'Rehab', which is a darker brown. The reason I'd really like this is that I found them on www.cosmeticsfairy.co.uk for just £3.49! How can this be?! I'm a little wary, because I feel like they're just too cheap, so if you have experience with the site please let me know.

Anyway, sorry for the Urban Decay theme in this. Also, I'd just like to clarify that the majority of my makeup is from MUA, Rimmel, Natural Collection, etc. I do not usually buy high end products like these, hence why they're on my "Wishlist" and not my "Bought" list :)

Stay beautiful girls,
E x

Sunday Stars

Hello girls! Sorry I've been a little lazy and haven't written for a few days, but my life is currently so hectic! I have three weeks left in school until my exams start so everything is a little manic. Are any of you doing exams? Let me know if you are!

Today I'm going to do the first installment of a series I'm going to be doing every week, called Sunday Stars. This will feature my favourite things from the week, from makeup, to fashion, to people, to music, to food... anything! I hope you enjoy, and comment below and tell me your favourites! Also, I'm again using generic images because my camera hates me!

Urban Decay <3s NYC Palette
Image from http://makeupadviceforum.com/2010/08/urban-decay-book-of-shadows-nyc/

So, this is otherwise known as the Urban Decay Book of Shadows III and I got it last Christmas (2010). I've always loved it, but this week i've  used it even more than normal. I came up with a beautiful eye look using Last Call, Psychedelic Sister, Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Perversion and Uzi, and I've had so many compliments on it. I don't think you can buy this palette anymore, but if you see it BUY IT! it's well worth an investment, and it has some incredible colours!

Soap&Glory The Righteous Butter
Image from: http://oufancy.blogspot.co.uk/2011_10_01_archive.html
I used up the last of my Soap&Glory body butter a few months ago and refused to buy more until I had used up all my other moisturisers. Well, I did and so I treated myself to a small size of the body butter! It is a white, creamy solution but I find that it is light enough to use on my face, and it soaks in very quickly. I paid about £2.50 for my small travel size, which is well worth the money because it will last me around two months! I also bought the S&G Sugar Crush body exfoliator, which smells divine but probably isn't the most incredibly exfoliating product.

Simple Eye Makeup Remover
Simple Eye Make Up Remover 50ML
image from: www.superdrug.com

This eye makeup remover is absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. It's not overpriced (although I bought mine from home bargains, so mine was even cheaper), but works so effectively. It's also non-irritating, a key aspect when it comes to makeup on the eyes!

Unbroken by Demi Lovato
Image from www.wikipedia.com

I'm a huge Demi fan, and Unbroken has finally been released in the UK! I already downloaded all the songs, but this week I got to go into HMV and buy the physical CD. How exciting! To be honest, I'm not a fa of her more 'RnB' style songs, such as 'Who's That Boy' or 'Together', but I love 'Lightweight', 'Fix a Heart', 'Give Your Heart a Break', 'For The Love of A Daughter' and of course'Skyscraper'. If you do prefer more uptempo songs, I'd recommend 'Hold Up' or 'Unbroken'. But basically, buy this album!

YouTube Artists
Megan and Liz - DIDYC

I've always loved YouTube singers and gurus, but this week I've really been loving two in particular. First of all, Megan&Liz, above. I've followed these girls (who are twin sisters) since about 2009, and they've come so far. They're currently recording their debut album, which I can't wait for! If you want to listen to their covers, my favourites are 'Good Girl' by Carrie Underwood, and any Taylor Swift songs. If you want to listen to their incredible original songs, try 'Long Distance', 'Maybe Possible', 'Happy Never After', 'Run Away' or 'Are You Happy Now?'.

Next is the wonderful Juliet Weybret. I've also followed Juliet for about three years, and she's also come on so far. Her originals are getting better and better, and her new one, War We Left Behind, is amazing! So you should definitely go check out her channel and her originals songs and covers. My favourite originals are 'War We Left Behind' and 'Prison Break'.

That's all for this week! I'm going to try my best to get some more posts up this week, but I can't guarentee daily action since I'm so stressed about exams! Sorry guys, speak to you soon,
E x

Makeup Haul with images!

So as I mentioned yesterday, I picked up a few makeup products recently and wanted to show you all my great bargain finds! These were all reduced to a fraction of the price you'd normal pay - score! Most of the things are from Superdrug, but I also picked up one thing in MAC last week. I'd just like to stress that all of these were bought with my own money, which I earn through a part-time job. Enjoy!

This Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara was on offer; spend £9.99 and get this mascara absolutely free! As a huge Rimmel fan, and somebody who also uses Scandaleyes mascara, this was too good to resist!
So I picked up this Rimmel nail varnish in Peppermint, which is a beautiful mint green, and cost £4.50. It's a really stunning colour which will be extremely fashionable this spring.

I also picked up this Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer in the shade 002. It was £5.99, which took my total to over £10 and I got my free mascara - yay! :D
Also in Superdrug, I bought these three MUA (MakeUp Academy) eyeshadows in the shades (left-right) 19 - Matte, 30 - Pearl and 8 - Pearl. They were an absolute bargain at £1 each!

Here are some swatches of the colours above (in the same order). I didn't use any primer, so if you do the colours will be even more vibrant! Also, the colours (especially the gold) are rather soft, so be very careful with them! Other than that, they're excellent value for money. They're not quite MAC standard, but for £1 each, you could try out a few new, bold colours and then pick your favourite to buy from a top brand!

The final product I picked up was from an outlet mall last week and it's the MAC Beauty Powder in Too Chic. I paid £13.50 for this, which I believe is cheaper than normal, but I couldn't confirm that (I couldn't even find it on the site...)

I really like this powder, and I've been using it to highlight my cheeks recently, which looks lovely as it reflects the light and gives your skin a natural glow!

Stay beautiful girls,

Tuesday 17 April 2012

Hey girls! I picked up a few supplies on the way back from school today, so hopefully I'll get a proper haul with pictures up by this weekend! I have more products from the part 2 weeks or so that I'm super excited to show you, so keep your eyes peeled for those! But for now, just a quick list of what I bought today;

- MUA eyeshadow in shade 19 - matte (dark matte brown)
- MUA eyeshadow in shade 8 - pearl (turquoise/blue with a sheen)
- MUA eyeshadow in shade 30 - pearl (gold with glitter)
- Possibility raspberry pavlova hand and nail cream

It only added up to £3.90 total! £1 each for the eyeshadows and 90p for the hand cream (I got it from home bargains!). There's a tip for budding fashionistas on a budget; check out your local home bargains, poundland or poundstretcher. Now of course, their own brand products won't match up to the likes of MAC or even Rimmel, but sometimes they sell great brands at reduced prices! I've seen Loreal, Maybelline, Simple skincare, Piz Buin tanner in there, all at a fraction of the price! Ladies, it's not 'cheap' to buy your makeup there; it's CLEVER!

Stay beautiful girls,
E x

40 Beauty Questions Tag!

For my face I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Exfoliator and for my body I use the Soap&Glory Sugar Crush Exfoliator

6) WHAT MOISTURIZER DO YOU USE?

No, I don't have problematic skin at all, but occasionally I get a huge spot which lasts forever...

10) DID YOU EVER HAVE TO USE PROACTIV?
No I didn't, luckily!

11) WHAT FOUNDATION?
Currently I'm using the Dream Nude Airfoam by Maybelline, or sometimes the Lasting Finish foundation by Rimmel London. Other times, as it's getting warmer, I just wear primer or powder.

12) WHAT CONCEALER?
I'm not a huge concealer fan to be honest, at the moment I'm just using a Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch concealer

13) DO YOU KNOW YOUR UNDERTONE COLOR?
No...

14) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF FAKE EYELASHES?
I love them IF they look quite natural, I'm not a fan of purple or huge ones!

15) DID YOU KNOW YOUR SUPPOSE TO CHANGE YOUR MASCARA EVERY THREE MONTHS?
Yes, although I would say that I sometimes keep them for up to six months, oops!

16) WHAT TYPE OF MASCARA DO YOU USE?
I like to layer mine, so I'm currently using: Rimmel Scandaleyes and Rimmel Scandaleyes in Extreme Black, Great Lash Waterproof by Maybelline, Estee Lauder More than Mascara and a pink waterproof one that I believe is Rimmel, but the label is worn off!

17) SEPHORA OR MAC?
We don't have Sephora in England, so MAC!

18) DO YOU HAVE A MAC PRO CARD?
No, I do not.

19) WHAT MAKE UP TOOLS DO YOU USE WHEN APPLYING MAKE UP
I use my fingers, brushes, q-tips, eye lash curler… the basics.

20) DO YOU USE MAKE UP BASE PRIMER FOR THE EYES OR FACE?
Eyes, yes, I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion. Face - I recently bought the Rimmel Fix and Protect Pro, but I don't wear it much as it clogs your pores and can cause breakouts!

21) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE EYESHADOW COLOR OR SHADE?
Are you joking?! This is impossible. Can I have my favourite combination? My favourite combination would be Fashionista in the shades Berry Brown and Nude Glimmer. I also love all of the shades from my Urban Decay Loves NYC palette

22) DO YOU USE PENCIL OR LIQUID EYELINER?
I use a black felt tip eyeliner by Collection 2000, i don't know if that counts as penchil or liquid!

23) HOW OFTEN DO YOU POKE YOUR EYES WITH AN EYELINER PENCIL?
Never – mascaras a different story.

24) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF PIGMENT EYESHADOWS?
I'm not a huge fan because I find them a little messy, but I do own a few as they're so versatile and have some really vibrant colours

25) DO YOU USE MINERAL MAKE UP?
No, I don't!
26) WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE LIPSTICK? LIPGLOSS?
Very hard question for me… I’m addicted to lip products.

27) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BLUSH?
I actually don't ever wear blusher because I have naturally very red cheeks

28) DO YOU BUY YOUR MAKE UP ON EBAY?
No, never. My mum really doesn't like eBay, and she wouldn't let me!

29) DO YOU LIKE DRUGSTOR MAKE UP?
Definitely, most of my makeup is drugstore!

30) DO YOU GO TO A CCO?
A what?

31) DID YOU EVER CONSIDER TAKING MAKE UP CLASSES?
I'd like to I suppose, but I watch so many YouTube tutorials, I feel like they're like taking a class

32) ARE YOU CLUMSY PUTTING ON MAKE UP?
I can be, if I'm really rushing, especially if I use Urban Decay eyeshadow; glitter everywhere! But I'm never clumsy on other people

33) NAME A MAKE UP CRIME THAT YOU HATE?
Foundation that is too dark or too pale; get the right shade!

34) DO YOU LIKE COLORFUL SHADES OF MAKE UP EYESHADOW, LIPSTICK OR NEUTRAL ONES?
I love bright eyeshadow colours, but I honestly don't wear them much. I tend to stick to neutrals, or sometimes neutrals with a pop of colour. That's why I love doing other peoples makeup, when they ask for a bright colour!

35) WHICH CELEBRITY ALWAYS HAS GREAT MAKE UP?
I really like and admire Taylor Swift's overall style

36) IF YOU COULD LEAVE THE HOUSE WITH ONE MAKE UP ITEM WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Mascara

37) WOULD YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT MAKE UP ON?
Yes, definitely. If you're not comfortable in your own skin then makeup won't really change that, not properly!

38) DO YOU THINK YOU LOOK GOOD WITHOUT MAKE UP ON?
Yes. As I said above, makeup can give you a little extra confidence, but you should have the confidence to just bare your natural face. So yeah, I think I look better with makeup, but whatever.

39) IN YOUR OPINION WHAT IS THE BEST MAKE UP LINE?
I can't name one! I have favourite products from all lines; Rimmel, Maybelline, MAC, Fashionista, all sorts!

40) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MAKE UP?
I love it, but to me makeup should be used to enhance natural beauty, not to change your appearance. But yeah, I love it, always have and always will.

Viva View: Fashionista Eyeshadow Pallette

I apologise for using generic Superdrug images, my camera won't upload onto my laptop. Hopefully I will replace these images in the next few days.

Hello and welcome to the very first Viva View blog. Viva View is simply just my way of saying "reviews" - so anytime you see a blog entitled this, expect a review of a new and exciting product. I will always be 100% honest in my reviews, however you will of course see that the majority of these will be positive. This is because I do a lot of my own research before purchasing a product. I hope you enjoy!

So, what is Fashionista?

Fashionista is a makeup range that was released at larger Superdrug stores in around October 2011. I stress that it is only found in large superdrugs; I have yet to find one, instead buying all my products online. But for me, it's definitely worth it! I have only purchased 3 products as yet, but I will definitely be buying more very shortly - if you look to the right, ->, you'll see my wishlist, which feature several items from the fashionista range!

The three items I own are;

Fashionista Custom Palette - Black
- Fashionista Custom Palette in Red
Fashionista Mono Eyeshadow Berry Brown
- Fashionista Mono Eyeshadow in Berry Brown
Fashionista Mono Eyeshadow Nude Glimmer
- Fashionista Mono Eyeshadow in Nude Glimmer

But still, what is this rage all about? Basically, this range focuses on custom palettes. You buy your palette (£5, and available in either red or black), which holds up to four eyeshadows or blushers. You then can buy as may of the eyeshadows and blushers as you would like, as they come in individual pots, or can be taken out and put into a palette. There are a total of 42 eyeshadows and blushers available throughout the year, and an additional seven which change with the season trends. All of the colours have a slight glimmer to them, without being tacky or over-the-top. They're also extremely pigmented, and blend well. Did I mention that their only £4 each? Superdrug also often has either a 3 for 2 offer, or a 4 for 3 offer on, so you can get them for even cheaper most of the time!

My picks:
- Steel
- Envy
- Double Take Baked in Radiant
- Double Take Baked in Globe
- Embellished

So, whether you're new to makeup, or have a huge drawer full, this will be the perfect addition to your collection. With shades from baby pinks to jet black, everybody will find something wearable and gorgeous!

Stay beautiful girls,
E x
